Dr. Anna Dowling

Dr. Anna Dowling

Anna Dowling graduated from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 2005 and went on to complete her OB/GYN residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. For the last two years she has been a practicing OB/GYN in the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Prior to medical school, Anna studied in Michigan and Colorado. She has worked as an EMT and as a wilderness guide. Anna and her husband, Matt and their 2 children have moved to Bellingham to join Bellingham OB/GYN.They look forward to spending time enjoying our beautiful outdoors.

Megan E. Gruber, ARNP

Megan received her Master's in Nursing from Washington State University in 2008 and Bachelors degree in Nursing from Western Michigan University/Bronson School of Nursing in 2002. She has 2 years experience as a Primary Care Family Practitioner with a special interest in Women's Health.

Dr. Sherry Holtzman

Dr. Holtzman has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1991 and has been a part of Bellingham OB/GYN since 2001. She attended University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison and went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After 11 years in practice in Madison, Wisconsin she decided to move to the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Holtzman is married with two grown sons. She enjoys boating, hiking, running, and cross country skiing.

Dr. Lisa Kaepernick

Dr. Lisa Kaepernick

Dr. Kaepernick grew up on Bainbridge Island near Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Cell Biology. She then went on to earn a Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Kaepernick met her husband, Jim, in Wisconsin and married him despite the fact he was a born Packer and Badger football fan. She worked in the Department of Pediatrics at Michigan State University School of Medicine as a pediatric/adult genetic counselor followed by 3 years as a prenatal genetic counselor. Realizing that she really wanted to deliver babies, Dr. Kaepernick returned to the University of Wisconsin to earn her Medical Degree, graduating with honors and completing her residency in 2003. She and her husband have two boys (who are beginning to show a preference for Seahawks and Huskies). She enjoys spending time with her family which often involves watching kids play sports, and in her free time enjoys knitting, sewing, skiing and spending time in our beautiful outdoors. Dr. Kaepernick specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and is Board Certified with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology.

Dr. Michael Mallory

Dr. Michael Mallory

Dr. Mallory has been in private practice for 13 years and with Bellingham OB/GYN since 2000. Dr. Mallory graduated from Auburn University in 1988 with a bachelors in Chemistry/Premed. He went on to the University of Alabama, School of Medicine graduating in 1992, then completed his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida in 1996. While in medical school, Dr. Mallory met and married his wife Kimberly. They have four children ages 11-16. Dr. Mallory is an active member of St. Joseph Hospital Credential Committee, serves as a Board Member for Bellingham Anesthesia and Surgical Associates, is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) as well as being board certified with the American Board of OB/GYN since 1998. Dr. Mallory very much enjoys the outdoors, and spends much of his free time bicycling, backpacking, climbing and camping.

Dr. C. Shayne Mora

Dr. Mora is the current president of Bellingham OB/GYN and has been part of the practice since 1998. He is Board Certified with the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in addition to being an active Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (FACOG). Dr. Mora attended the University of Florida, School of Medicine, graduating in 1994. He also served in the Peace Corps for two years prior to medical school. He enjoys all aspects of routine and high-risk obstetrics as well as Gynecologic care, management, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr. Mora lives in Bellingham with his wife, Rosemary and their 3 children. In his free time he enjoys bicycling, travel, surfing, backpacking and being out in the wonderful landscape that surrounds us.

Barbara Schickler, ARNP

Barbara Schickler is a Certified Nurse Midwife and practicing Family Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years now. She has been with Bellingham OB/GYN for 14 years and was the first nurse-midwife to obtain privileges to deliver at St. Joseph Hospital. She graduated from the University of California in San Francisco with a Master's degree in Nursing. She is currently licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in Women's Health. Barb is married to a practicing physician and they have two married daughters (with a grandchild on the way!!) and a son who is not yet married. Barb and her husband enjoy tending 10acres of garden, vineyard and orchards along with caring for their Cashmere and Angora goats. When she is not gardening, Barb spends time in her art studio or preparing for her next tri-athalon!
